History: Peoria Adult Transitional Center (ATC) is located in downtown Peoria. It is a minimum-security male facility and one of IDOC's four ATCs, or work release programs. In the ATC program, eligible incarcerated individuals establish and maintain employment and are eligible for community correctional center leaves and independent release time. ATCs aim to reduce recidivism by supporting incarcerated individuals in their return to their communities.
